Align your yoga practice with your menstrual cycle to reduce stress and overwhelm and increase health and vitality!
If you’ve never heard of the term Cycle-syncing yoga and you’re wondering how on earth your menstrual cycle has anything to do with your yoga practice – you’re in the right place! This eBook will introduce you to menstrual cycle awareness as your secret superpower to adjusting your yoga practice to reduce stress and overwhelm and transform your mind and body to live a life as the powerful woman you are.
Is it time to focus on you?
At a time of your life when you should feel at your prime, you're feeling tired, exhausted and worn out. I understand, this was me a few years ago. The constant juggle of childcare, work and managing the home leaves little time for self-care and often you find your yoga practice, in fact any kind of self-care practice, is the LAST thing on the list and you rarely get there. Perhaps you've managed to snatch a little time to yourself to practice yoga but you stick on the same YouTube video, or practice the same sequence so that you don’t have to think.. The frustration of never having the time to fill your own cup is real!
I was once in your shoes…
Juggling small children, running my own business and trying to manage the home. I adored my yoga practice, but it had fallen to the wayside since having kids and when I did find time it felt rushed and unfocussed as I was trying to cram it in before the baby woke up, or the school run, or kids swimming lessons!
I then read a book…
called 'Wild Power' by Alexandra Pope and Sjanie Hugo Wurlitzer and it completely transformed my life. The realisation that the ebbs and flows of hormones throughout my menstrual cycle (not just during my period) had a direct impact on my energy, mood and my attitude towards life was a massive penny drop moment for me - it all suddenly made sense and I started tracking my menstrual cycle from then on.
It wasn't long before I realised that menstrual cycle awareness could be the answer to transforming my yoga practice so I set to work researching the most suitable breathing, meditation and asana practices for each phase of my menstrual cycle.
Imagine this…

Absolutely, if you love the idea of adapting your yoga practice throughout the month you can do this with the moon cycle. The New Moon would represent the first day of your period and the Full Moon would represent ovulation! We are cyclical beings living in a cyclical world so use the power of the moon cycle in place of your menstrual cycle.
-
Of course, just follow the recommendations for where you are in your cycle and then start again when you get your period (Day 1).
-
You can use the advice above and follow the moon cycle until you get your menstrual cycle back, but please also follow pregnancy yoga advice during your pregnancy from a qualified pregnancy yoga teacher.
-
I strongly believe so, this is about tuning into you and your body through menstrual cycle awareness and by using these yoga practices to look after yourself throughout your cycle, I hope you’ll be able to improve your PMS/PMT symptoms.
